The nominees for the 88th Academy Awards were announced this morning, confirming that recent Golden Globe-champion “The Revenant” has become a big contender for Oscar glory. That Alejandro G. Iñarritu film racked up 12 nominations across the board. However, don’t underestimate the likes of “Room,” “The Big Short” or even “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens,” as each earned a considerable amount of nominees.
