Video: Chaz Ebert Reports on Enticing Films at Cannes

In her first video report from the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, RogerEbert.com publisher Chaz Ebert discusses some of the most buzzed-about titles that have screened thus far. The video, embedded below, includes footage of such acclaimed selections as László Nemes's "Son of Saul," Todd Haynes's "Carol" and Yorgos Lanthimos's "The Lobster." Filmmakers such as George Miller ("Mad Max: Fury Road") and Woody Allen ("Irrational Man") appear here as well, while Matthew McConaughey defends his film—Gus Van Sant's critically reviled, "The Sea of Trees"—declaring it "life-affirming." As Chaz notes, the race for the festival's coveted top prize, the Palme d'Or, comes down to the taste of the star-studded jury, headed this year by the duo of Joel and Ethan Coen.
