Video Q&A with Ahmad Kiarostami

Discussing the work of Abbas Kiarostami with his son Ahmad is always as illuminating as it is entertaining. After the U.S. premiere of Abbas’ final feature, the unique and wondrous "24 Frames" at Lincoln Center on Feb. 2, I discussed it with Ahmad, who co-produced the film and completed it after his father’s untimely death. As always, I learned a lot.

"24 Frames" has been held over for a second week at Lincoln Center. On Feb. 9, it opens at the Gene Siskel Film Center in Chicago. Other upcoming showings include the Portland (OR) International Film Festival, which runs Feb. 13-Mar. 1; the Freer and Sackler Galleries, Washington, DC, Feb. 18; the CCA Cinematheque, Santa Fe, NM, opening Feb. 23; the Wexner Center of the Arts, Columbus, OH, Mar. 2 & 3; Time & Space Ltd., Hudson, NY, Mar. 10-26; the TIFF Cinematheque, Toronto, ON, Mar. 15 & 16.
