Roger Ebert to be Honored at Chicago Book Expo

TO MARK the 50th ANNIVERSARY OF ROGER EBERT'S HIRING BY THE CHICAGO SUN-TIMES in the fall of 1966, the 5th Annual Chicago Book Expo will present a celebration of his writing on Sunday, November 13th. Roger's friends and colleagues will discuss his work and read some of their favorite passages at the event. Among the scheduled guests are Roger's widow and RogerEbert.com publisher Chaz Ebert, Chicago Tribune critic Michael Phillips, Chicago Symphony Orchestra digital content editor Laura Emerick, filmmaker and playwright Pamela Sherrod Anderson, newspaperman and author Rick Kogan and "Sound Opinions" co-host Jim DeRogatis.

This event takes place at Columbia College's Film Row Cinema, on the eighth floor of 1104 S. Wabash Ave., and admission is free. There will be refreshments before the event starting at 11:30am, and book sales and booksigning after the noon event. This program is cosponsored by RogerEbert.com.

The Chicago Book Expo is Chicago’s biggest literary event of the fall, featuring 70 exhibitors from Chicago-area publishers and literary organizations, plus 20 events with local authors on a wide range of topics, including Chicago novels, justice in Chicago, diversity in publishing, Chicago music, poetry readings, mysteries, Chicago history, writing workshops, and much more.
