Newton Minow Special Airing on WTTW

The extraordinary life of Newton Minow, former FCC Chairman and a trailblazer in both television and politics, is the subject of a special airing on WTTW various times over the next couple months. According to the WTTW website, "Newton Minow: An American Story" " traces a transformative time in American life through the story of a man who has played a pivotal role in its most challenging moments."

"Through World War II, the Cold War, the Cuban Missile Crisisin elevating television to higher standards and empowering today's satellite communication—while engaging in the struggle for civil rights and peace in Vietnam—and in offering wise counsel to Presidents, politicians, academia and corporate leaders—Newton Minow remains a fierce advocate for the common good. His story is the American story: a journey toward liberty and justice for all."

Mr. Minow's daughter, Nell, is a film critic and contributor at RogerEbert.com, and has also been praised for being one of the most influential people in corporate governance. The special airs three times over Mother's Day weekend. For specific times and network info, visit the WTTW site.
